How does this product work?
After your form overlay has been created and approved it is burnt onto the SIMM or DIMM with assigned macro numbers. Within the Meditech system there is an area to define the macro numbers, possibly in the spooling dictionary. Meditech should be able to assist you in identifying this area. After the macro has been defined within the Meditech system, the form overlay and data from the Meditech system will merge together when the macro number is called up.

Why isnt the account number showing?
The line of numbers that runs along the bottom of the checks is called the MICR line. This number not only includes the account number with the bank, but it also includes the check number. Since the check number always changes, VMP cannot hard code the number into the overlay. We supply the micro font on the SIMM or DIMM. Any problem with incorrect numbers or placement of that line needs to be addressed with Meditech.

Why is the alignment off?
Most of our forms are designed by modifying what we call a Meditech standard form that Meditech is already programmed to. Make sure that your settings within the Meditech software are the same as we have provided to you. If the settings match and the alignment is still off, call your account representative at 800.982.6862 for assistance.

The forms dont print or arent printing correctly why?
Make sure that the SIMM or DIMM has a good connection within your printer. If necessary, remove and replace the SIMM/DIMM, or insert it into another slot and test again.
In addition, verify if your software company has made any adjustments or upgrades to your software. If adjustments or upgrades have been performed, check to see if your form dictionary was altered. Occasionally settings wont carry over during upgrades and changes.
If you are getting data but not the form overlay, call VMP Product Support at 800.863.9445. If you are getting the form overlay, but not the data from Meditech, call your Meditech representative. If forms arent printing correctly, check to see if the data is coming out. If nothing is coming out it may be a software problem.

Can my SIMM or DIMM board be used in another printer?
VMPs SIMM and DIMM boards are not designed specifically for one type of printer. If you have a SIMM board it can be used within another printer that accepts SIMM boards, most HP 4, 5 and 6 series of printers will take a SIMM board. The same is true for our DIMM boards which will work in the HP 4000, 5000 and 8000 printers. To verify what models the SIMM/DIMM boards are compatible with, please visit the printer page.
